Airmax 90 Surplus ‘Black Infrared’/Air Max Surplus Black
The Nike Air Max 90 Surplus Black combines a sneaker’s flexibility with a work boot’s toughness.
The sturdy Cordura fabric that circles the lower half of the upper is windproof and waterproof, whereas the nylon of the toe box is more flexible. TPU appears on the eye stays, the “AIR MAX” branding just below the black swoosh, and the heel with its “NIKE AIR” branding and swoosh. The laces and tongue are black, and the tongue has an infrared pocket on its underside. Infrared also appears on the mini-swoosh on the side of the toe-box. The black rubber outsole is thickened for traction.
Released in 1990, Nike’s signature Air Max 90 low-top sneakers offered an iconic and instantly recognizable silhouette for years to come, and this “Surplus” iteration is the latest update.
